Heat pumps are an efficient, clean tech alternative to furnaces and boilers. They move heat rather than burning fuel and they can generate 2–4x the energy that they use depending on the type of heat pump.
Modern heat pumps are designed to work well in our cold Canadian climate. Don't let an HVAC supplier tell you otherwise. Find an HVAC supplier that works with cold climate heat pumps that operate down to -30°C!
Heat pumps also work bi-directionally so they function as heaters in winter and air conditioners in summer — all with the same piece of equipment.
Your space heating is one of the biggest components of your carbon footprint and moving away from fossil fuels like natural gas, oil and propane to clean energy is one of the biggest shifts occurring across the globe right now.
If you have radiators, you might consider adding a smaller cold climate mini-split heat pump system to cover most of your heating and all of your cooling needs.
• Helps you transition to clean energy.
• Reduces your carbon emissions.
• Improves you air quality, home safety, and home comfort.
• Reduces energy use.
• Shift to next generation technology for smart, connected, heating and cooling.
• Plan ahead! Don’t wait for your furnace or air conditioner to die unexpectedly. A heat pump needs to be sized properly for your home and, in some cases, other changes may be required or desired for greater climate impact and home comfort.
• Look for an HVAC contractor with good experience and knowledge about heat pumps and make sure they know what you want.
If you aren’t ready to work with a contractor and want to know more about the best options for your home, you can also reach out to a heat pump coaching service provider (like Reep Green Solutions) or a heat pump / retrofit concierge program to learn more.
